About Emily
Emily Schmalstieg has been a real estate agent in the Central PA region for over 30 years, but helping clients buy and sell homes is far from her only passion. Prior to entering the real estate market, Emily studied education, earning a doctorate from Penn State University. She’s taught all ages, from kindergarteners all the way to seniors in college. She sees a lot of parallels between teaching and realty, leveraging her experience with the former as she transferred careers.
Emily also has a passion for singing, and her talent afforded her the opportunity to perform all over the country. She lived in New York City for several years, taking lessons in Carnegie Hall, enjoying season tickets to the Metropolitan Opera, and performing as a soloist at churches on Governors Island as well as the east side. Her career as a singer and teacher, as well as the career of her husband, also took her to Washington D.C. and Philadelphia before she finally found a home in Happy Valley.
Emily Schmalstieg was honored with a Leading Edge Society Award for her excellent sales performance placing her in the top percent of associates nation-wide.
